Files are handled in a dedicated module parallel to media. The file index supports pagination, sorting by name, type, size, created time, and external ID, plus search by name or external ID for faster retrieval.
Uploads support both direct file upload and ZIP extraction. Allowed file types are validated before persistence, and uploaded files receive structured metadata including path, extension, MIME type, file size, and external ID.
Files can be renamed, enriched with file-specific custom fields, searched through AJAX endpoints, downloaded through a secure controller route, and attached to products so they can appear later in product-facing outputs such as webshop download lists.
