What stock history stores
Stock history is a dedicated entity with links back to inventory rows, optional orders, optional purchase orders, optional employees, quantity deltas, before and after values, reasons, cost price, and timestamps.
That makes it more than a simple transaction list. It is the audit layer that explains why quantity or availability changed and which workflow produced the change.
The system exposes both a global stock history page and a history page scoped to a single inventory row, so users can investigate either broad operational patterns or one exact product/location combination.
Stored fields
Quantity change, quantity before, quantity after
Reason and optional cost price
Employee, order, and purchase-order references
Inventory row and timestamp
Two ways to inspect history
Row-level history
The inventory history screen is focused on one inventory row and shows current quantity, available, reserved, and a filtered movement log for that row only.
Solution:
Use it when a buyer or warehouse user needs to understand one SKU in one location.
Global stock history
The company-wide stock history screen lists entries across products and locations and supports filters for date range, employee, location, and product.
Solution:
Use it for audit work, incident reviews, and operational reporting.
Filtering and drill-down
The history tooling is already built for real investigations, not just passive logging.
Date Filters
Both history views accept date range filters so users can isolate a time window around an incident or stock correction.
Employee Filters
History can be filtered by employee to identify who performed manual adjustments or other user-driven changes.
Product and Location Filters
The global stock history view supports both product and location filters, which is critical in multi-location stock analysis.
Before / After Values
Every entry shows before and after figures so users can see the precise state transition rather than only the delta.
Linked Commercial Context
Entries can carry order or purchase-order references, which lets the UI show the business document behind the stock change.
Detail Modal Data
The stock history detail action can return the selected entry together with its linked order and purchase order for deeper inspection.
